Forget Not

“ Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” Psalm 103:2 In this world of woeful Willies, and Negative Nellys, and grumpy Oscar the grouches, we become searchers of the negative, sad, bad and just downright miserable. We live our days looking for (and finding, I might add) things to complain about or just to point out all the things that are wrong.  We even find comfort in the fact that someone else is worse off than we are. We breeze past the benefits of God so fast that we never see them. Or we just expect them as our due for just being here on earth because we are just about as perfect as we can get. 😳 What if, just if, we looked at things with a grateful heart. We actually rejoiced in the blessings of God. Here is a good example. David was anointed king at an early age. I Love Honey!

 I love honey! In my tea, in my coffee, on toast, on peanut butter, on a spoon. I currently have about 10 different kinds of honey! 😁  So I guess you would say that honey is the bee’s knees to me!  Did you know that honey is a wonderful example of God's care for us? Psalm 104:24 “O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions.”  Here are some of the things God built into honey.  First it is a wonderful sweetener! It is 25% sweeter than sugar. It comes in different flavors and colors depending on the flowers the bees collect nectar from. Honey can also be infused with other flavors. These are facts that most people know. God’s word is even sweeter than honey. Psalm 119:103 states “How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth.” Honey has healing properties.
